Doggie doors are for more than just dogs
May 3, 2009
Hey friends!
I know its been a while, but I thought it was time to reach out to you and tell you what’s up these days. As my mom has told you in great detail, I am walking and talking more these days. I’ve also decided that after turning 16 months yesterday, I need to start being more independent. After all, you can’t be a kid forever. Before you know it, I will be driving myself to school, going to the prom and off to college.
So, today I decided that I would make a statement. My mom ran out to the garage to get some dinner out of the freezer for us as I waited in the basement. As usual my mom told me she would be right back. As if I didn’t know that…I mean she only walked about 10 feet out the door to the freezer. I figured this was an ideal opportunity to further my quest to show the parentals who runs the place, so I shut the door behind her and somehow (wink, wink) the door locked behind her.
Well, I thought this was pretty funny, but mom did not considering she had no key to get back in, all the other doors were locked, her cell phone was inside and dad was away washing his car. After a few minutes, I got kind of bored with the whole thing and realized mom was gone. Mom, who I will now call McGyver Mom, briskly returned from the neighbors with a screw driver. By this time, I was banging on the door trying to get to mom. Just like the skilled handy woman that she is, McGyver Mom quickly unscrewed the doggy door and coaxed me through the door to safety. What a relief!
A few minutes and several run red lights later, dad pulled up…Mom had used the neighbors’ phone to get him home quickly with the key. It was a fairly exciting afternoon for the Fordster, but to tell you the truth, I think the days of locking my mom out are over. I really like it better when I’m hanging out with the parentals, rather than wondering if they are EVER going to come back for me.

Fun with Ford!
October 5, 2008
Hey everyone!
Glad to be back with you via cyberspace, as they call it. It’s been a busy few days for me. I got to meet a new Gamecock friend, Trace, the other day. He was just born last week, so he’s pretty little. You know they always say that as an older friend, you can be a role model. I have decided that I am going to be Trace’s role model. He has already started his own website as well, so I am going to show him the ropes…or should I say cyber-ropes? Enough computer geek humor, but that Trace kid is really cool.
I must tell you that I am starting to really diversify myself. I know that is a big word and all, but I am almost 10 months old. This past week as part of my quest to become a renaissance baby, I went to a dinner party with my parents, went to “a ladies tea” with the neighbors (as my mom calls it), and a festival downtown.
This weekend, I got to spend most of it with just my mom and me. It was really fun. When I get to spend time with just my mom, I really turn up my game. I mean really, folks, a guy has got to turn on the charm with the madre. This is an investment in my future, dudes. How else am I gonna get good dinners and school lunches, not get busted when I stay out too late, or need help in math or science. I mentioned the math and science part for my dad’s benefit. My mom tells me that he can bring his “A game” in the classroom, but I can forget getting help in those two subjects.
I digress…anyway, my mom and I had a blast at the festival downtown. I put on my shades and we hit the streets. The parentals tell me that I need to keep my ego in check, but I attracted some wicked attention wearing those spectacles…not bad for a guy my age.
I spent Sunday with my dad and helped him (or should I say supervised him) as he adjusted my crib. At one point I noticed “the missing pacifier” under the crib and made a valiant, but unsuccessful attempt to get under the crib and get it. My dad adjusted the crib because he is afraid I am gonna turn into kamikaze kid and launch myself out. Can’t imagine why he thinks that. I mean just because I look for any opportunity to crawl, climb or claw my way up anything in my path, doesn’t mean I’m totally nuts.
Oh well, enough rambling for now—Catch ya’ll next time around–Ford
Here are a few pics for you guys. The first one is me, mom and Trace. Then you will see me strollin’ in my shades at the festival. The next two will show you my excellent supervising skills from on top of my mattress on the floor. The last one is me finding my pass!
Gettin’ older!
September 1, 2008
Yep, I’m getting older! In just another day I will be 8 months old. I must tell you, I can’t believe how fast I’m growing up. Before you know it, I’ll be eating big boy food, playing sports, driving, and going to college. In fact, I have been told that my decision on where to go to college is already made, but I am still holding out for a football scholarship. I think my dad is right, the offensive line is for me…I can crunch those smaller dudes.
Anyway, enough of that, but I do love football. My mom went out shopping the other day and this left some time for bonding for the two men of the house. Man, was it fun! We watched some serious football action—just don’t tell my mom because she thinks watching tv will turn my head to mush.
Speaking of mush, I have really enjoyed this Gerber stuff my mom has found. She claims its peas, carrots and the like, but I can’t really tell the difference. It’s pretty darn good, whatever it is.
August has been a fun month. I got to see Grandma again, which is always tons of fun. She takes me out on outings, which I love because I love being in the car. In fact, my favorite thing to do in the car is to talk. Not sure why I choose to do it in the car, but it helps pass the time.
I think September is going to be even busier. I am going to another wedding (on the west coast! I have never been there before) and get to see lots of family. Also, I hope my dad brings me to my first football game. Dad says that I may have to wait until October. I think Grandad is coming to see my Gamecocks play his LSU Tigers. Should be tons of fun–nothing better than a good family rivalry!
Oh well, time for me to call it a day. I have some serious rolling to do–did you know that is how I get my exercise these days? I had my crew get some footage for you–check it out…http://www.youtube.com/v/Yi7XSTYLexY.
Hope to talk to you all again soon—over and out, chief.

Fun with Grandparents, Aunts and Uncle
June 18, 2008
Hi friends–
I know its been a while-sorry. My mom and dad tell me I really need to step it up now that I’m getting older. Well, I have news for them and you–I’ve been busy, ok? Now, you must be asking yourself, how could a five and a half month old be busy. Well, if you really must know, I have been hanging with my grandparents. You may already know this, but I invited my Grandma to come play with me for the last few weeks of my mom’s school year. I must say, she’s got the Ford thing down and I think I got the Grandma thing down if you know what I mean (wink, wink). I got her right where I want her.
Also, Grandpa came in town to play as well. We had tons of fun. He is a really funny guy. He talks to me and says funny things that I think only babies understand. Little does he know, I understand grandparent language too!
I must say, I have had lots of visitors over the last few months. My Auntie Sheryl, Aunt Sandi and Aunt Patti all came to Columbia so I could play with them. We had lots of fun. Auntie Sheryl taught me some new funny songs and Aunt Sandi and Patti took me to the movie being filmed at the house down the street. I really hope the three of them left manuals for mom and dad because, trust me, they need it. If I see dad attempt to set up my pack ‘n play one more time without mom’s help, I think I may scream…he just doesn’t get it!
Finally, last week I took mom and dad to Tennessee for a wedding. We got to hang out with Grandad, Uncle Jason and Aunt Kari at a really cool house in the mountains. Grandad took me to the aquarium and I had tons of fun wrestling with him (you can check out the video below)…by the way, I can whip that guy. Uncle Jason and Aunt Kari taught me UNO and told me all about their trip to Peru. They promised to take me there when I get older.
Hope all of you in adult land are doing well—Things in Ford land could not be better!
Ta Ta for now–Ford

May 4, 2008
Sorry its been a while. My agent (I call him Dad) told me that I could not resume my fan club messages until I got back in my crib at night. I must say, it was pretty cool to hang with mom and dad in the big bed. Kids, if you get the shot, go for it. Once you’re in there, the parentals can’t get you out. That is one thing the doctors forgot to mention and I took advantage of that slight oversight.
Well, since I was almost four months old, I decided it was time for me to grow up and get back to my own bed…not as fun, but will do for now. For a four month old, I have done lots of cool things…trip to Colorado with mom, a baseball game with just me and dad, dinner dates with younger women (her name is Alex and she lives next door) and next month I am going to my first wedding.
I have had the coolest babysitters since mom went back to work. Its been like a revolving door of people oohing and awhing over me…pretty fun! Auntie Sheryl just left this weekend and Grandma Sue is in town for a couple of weeks…I’ve got her right where I want her.
I have gotten loads of fan mail since I wrote last and lots of requests for new videos. I have added a few recent ones and even dug into the FordArchives for some oldies, but goodies.
Enjoy–Ford

Hey friends!
April 6, 2008
Hey friends, I’m back. Sorry for the long hiatous (my dad tells me that means “time away”…not sure I spelled it right, but, give me a break, I just turned 3 months). Speaking of my birthday, I wanted to let you all know that I got the first 2 months down easy…now the parentals, that’s another story. Let’s just say thank goodness for grandparents…probably not the last time I’ll use that phrase.
Here’s the deal, I was not real thrilled when my mom told me she was going back to work. I mean really, how is a 3 month old supposed to juggle drinking from a bottle, not having mom around, and work on my booming television/movie career.
Speaking of my career, its going better than expected. In fact, when Grandad was here, he agreed to become my full time agent. I am currently in the market for a security detail since my mom and dad decided they needed to go back to work. I have a few photos for you under “Featuring Ford”. One is from the set of my latest movie, “Strollin’ with the homies”, featuring me and my stroller. My buddy Brad stopped by and hooked me up with the shades and hat…these papparazzi are really getting to me.
Anyway, I need to run because dad says its nap time…naps are for babies…I can’t wait until I’m 4 months.

I’m Back!
March 3, 2008
Hey cyber-friends–It’s me, Ford. I want to apologize to you for being so absent lately. I never fully recovered from that writer’s strike and have been holding out for more money. I finally decided that my fans could wait no longer.
Here’s a brief recap of my last couple of weeks…and they’ve been wild ones!
-Went to Charleston with Mom and Grandma a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty fun, but I never left the hotel room, so how much fun is that, really. Grandma tells me that when I get a little older, we can explore the big city. I really had fun with her though…undivided attention for almost three days-cool!
-Mom and Dad took me to the big South Carolina vs. Clemson baseball game this past weekend–now that was fun. The Gamecocks won! You can check out pics from the game on ‘Featuring Ford’.
-The weather here has been great, so I’ve been out in the neighborhood quite a bit. I really like strolling the streets, but I usually fall asleep within the first 10 minutes. Strollers are great beds.
-My mom’s friend Briana came to town last week. She’s a real “Ford Expert” because she works with babies (EDITOR’s NOTE-As a reminder, I am now two months old and am not really a baby anymore, but you get the point.) every day. Kind of nice to see that Mom and Dad may know more about me than I gave them credit for. Aunt Briana says they are doing everything so well. Can’t wait to meet her son, Hunter–I hear he is really good at basketball which could be helpful for me in the future.
Before I sign off, just wanted to remind you that my Grandad is coming for Easter. My mom says she ordered me an Easter basket. I hope Grandad plans to hide eggs for me…I need to get started early.
Check ya later–Ford
Live with Ford…
February 10, 2008
Hey Ford Fans–Sorry its been a while. I’ve been out on location doing some scenes for my tv show. I have also added a new feature to the show called “Live with Ford..”. Kids, let me tell ya, its a trumped up name my dad came up with, but all it really is is a web cam. But, seeing that I like cameras so much, its pretty cool. In fact, today I talked to Grandpa Bob and Grandma Sue, Uncle Jason and Aunt Kari, and about ten others that were over at Great Gram’s house. Speaking of Great Gram, I want to send a birthday shout out to her–My Grandad actually took his web cam on location so everyone at Great Gram’s house could see me–pretty sweet!
As I mentioned, I’ve been busy on location. I was at the Gamecock basketball game last night with my mom. I gotta say, my mom is pretty darn cool. There aren’t many moms that would bring their kiddo to a basketball game..e.specially after I made her change my diaper at least four times in the 20 minutes before we left. I really had fun with her and dad showing me off. Also, did I mention that I met Cocky last week..I think I will invite him on my show soon…he’s big time cool and dad tells me he can take Barney with one hand behind his back…sounds a little cocky to me.
Hope you enjoy some of the excerpts from my show that I have posted below. I am unable to release the names of all the actors making cameos as my agent is still working on apperance fees for them.

I am growing like a . . .
January 31, 2008
weed (that is what they say atleast). Yes, folks, I am one healthy guy. My mom took me to a follow-up doctor’s appointment yesterday (my 4 week old birthday- all I got was my normal milk. . . I was hoping for some cake, but I guess I have to wait on that). Well, they stripped me down- which I have to say is not a nice feeling- and weighed me. The scale says I weigh 10 pounds 12 ounces! The doctor told my mom that by the looks of my weight there is no concern with my eating. My mom and dad say I am really changing fast. My infection I had is gone so basically my mom spent the rest of the appointment picking the doctor’s brain with her questions.
Now for the good stuff. My friend Brady is so cool. He is one happy guy and he is pretty into me. He can’t quite figure out why I don’t really do anything in response to his putting his hand on my hand or belly or foot, but none the less, he still likes me. My mom keeps telling him that next time we see eachother we will have a little more fun. Our moms propped us up to take some pictures today and we both tumped over. . . and rather than picking us up, they both just kept clicking away (my mom wants me to tell you not to worry, that we were on a bed so no injuries were sustained)! But, we were pretty laid back about it- just wondered if they had noticed we were laying down vs. sitting up. Today in the kitchen we did play a back and forth game of who could be the loudest. . . it was pretty fun. We have been on a couple outings together and have of course wooed the ladies around us. Brady is especially good at this. . . I am trying to take some tips from him. Overall, I love my new best friend. I definitely see some great times ahead in our future!
PS- note from my mom- she says she will post some pictures but it might take her till early next week so hang in there with us
Hip Hip Hooray. . .

my friend Brady Watson is on his way!! Brady will be my first ever friend to meet! He is coming all the way from Chicago to hang out with me. Apparently he is also bringing along his mom and dad, Kelly and Todd, who my mom and dad say are great friends from TCU. Also, they keep telling me that Brady and I will be going to this TCU place in about 18 years or so, along with lots of other “little Frogs” like Josh Vorel, Charlotte Everly, Rylie Galanos, Hudson Reasor, and the other babies that are on the way. Sounds fun to me! Brady is 8 months older than me and I have over-heard my parents say maybe he will pass along some good info. to me while he is here. Stay tuned later this week for some cute pictures I am sure. Adios (my dad is trying to teach me some spanish)!
